WITHIN CHANGES THERE IS LASTING PEACE

You are in hospital because something bad or unforeseen has happened to you - your situation has changed. This is typical of our world. Nothing is sure and predictable, nothing is permanent. Even the Bible compares our existence to that of the lilies and the grass of the field - the one day we are still there and the next day we are no more.

But the Bible also teaches us about God and that He is the eternal and immutable One. It is He who out of love for this world sent His Son to save us from our sorrows and sins. Out of love Jesus Christ died for us on the cross. Out of love for us He arose from the grave and ascended into heaven to prepare a place for us. Out of love for us He will return to gather all those who believe in Him and take them to be with Him forever.

This is what Jesus did and promised. These things are as eternal, immutable as Himself. Thus you can be reassured that there is stability in this unsure world. There is more to life than endless circles of sorrow, injustice and hospitals. There is an eternal life awaiting all who truly believe in Him.

Turn in honest dependency towards Him, and pray for forgiveness and removal of all the anxieties caused by your changed situation. Allow Him to settle and calm your confused, overloaded mind. Let Him replace it with His peace.

He, the immutable one, wants to answer your prayer. He wants to give you permanent peace, trust Him. He is the only one who can do it.
